Frequently Asked Questions
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized educational institution is the minimum qualification. For the Administration Service (Accounts Group), a Bachelor’s in Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Public Administration is required. For the Audit Service, a Bachelor’s in Management, Business Administration, or Commerce is required. For Law-related positions under Judicial Service, a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is required.
For open competition: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 35 years. For inclusive (women, indigenous/janajati, Madhesi, Dalit, disabled, and backward region candidates), the upper age limit is 40 years. For permanent government employees appearing in internal competition, the upper age limit is 45 years. Age is calculated as of the last date of application submission.
The exam has two main stages: Stage 1 (Preliminary) — 100 MCQ objective paper for screening only. Minimum 45/100 required to proceed. Stage 2 (Main Written) — Three subjective papers (Paper II, III, IV), each 100 marks, 3 hours each = 300 marks total. Final Stage — IT Skill Test (10) + Group Test (10) + Interview (40) = 60 marks. Grand Total for final merit: 300 (Stage 2) + 60 (Final) = 360 marks.
